Website and machinery hire enquiry terms

These terms explain how this website and our hire enquiry process work. Any actual equipment rental is governed by the written quotation and hire agreement accepted for that job.

1. About these terms

This website is operated for Worthing Ltd. By using it, you agree to these website terms. Product pages describe typical equipment and applications; they do not guarantee that a particular machine is available, suitable or ready for a specific date.

Contact us at sales@lancinguk.com or 01494 623015 if you need anything clarified before making an enquiry.

2. Enquiries, availability and rental scope

An enquiry is not a reservation. We will normally need your product or material, pack format, target output, site, utilities, access information and required dates before confirming suitability and availability.

A hire becomes binding only when the parties accept a written quotation or hire agreement. That document sets out the equipment, hire period, charges, deposit if any, delivery, installation, consumables, change parts, maintenance responsibilities, return arrangements and any special conditions. If these website terms conflict with an accepted hire agreement, the hire agreement takes precedence.

3. Customer responsibilities

The customer must provide accurate application and site information, safe access, the agreed utilities and suitable operating conditions. Equipment may be operated only by competent people following the supplied instructions and agreed safety requirements.

4. Delivery, setup and acceptance

Delivery and collection dates are targets until confirmed in the accepted hire documents. The customer is responsible for disclosing access restrictions and for having the site ready. Any installation, commissioning, trials or operator familiarisation included in the scope will be described in the quotation.

The customer should inspect the equipment at handover and record any visible issue promptly. Production performance depends on the agreed product, pack, environment, operator practice and upstream or downstream conditions.

5. Charges, care, risk and insurance

Hire charges, delivery costs, deposits, VAT and payment dates are shown in the written quotation. Unless the agreement says otherwise, hire continues until the equipment is returned or collected in the agreed condition.

The customer must take reasonable care of the equipment and is responsible for loss or damage while it is under the customer’s control, except for fair wear and tear or matters allocated differently in the hire agreement. Any insurance requirements will be stated in the accepted documents.

6. Maintenance, support and breakdowns

Routine cleaning and operator checks are the customer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise. Do not carry out repairs or fit substitute parts without approval. If equipment stops or becomes unsafe, stop using it, make it safe and contact us. Support response and any replacement-equipment arrangement depend on the accepted hire scope and availability.

7. Cancellation, return and late return

Cancellation terms are set out in the quotation because preparation, transport and reserved availability vary by job. Equipment must be cleaned, complete and ready for collection at the agreed time. Extra hire, cleaning, missing parts, damage or aborted collection may be charged where the accepted agreement allows.

8. Website content and liability

We take reasonable care with website content, but photographs, outputs, dimensions and specifications are indicative until confirmed for the selected machine. Nothing on the site is technical, safety, regulatory or production advice for a particular application.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not permit that limitation, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Any other limits that apply to an equipment hire are stated in the written hire agreement.

9. Intellectual property and acceptable use

Website text, design and media are protected by intellectual property rights. You may view and print content for evaluating a hire, but may not republish, scrape for resale, alter or commercially exploit it without permission. Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or submit unlawful or malicious material.

10. Privacy, changes and governing law

Personal information is handled as described in our privacy notice. We may update these website terms; the version shown when you use the site applies to that visit. These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that apply.
